What is a mold rack
Usually, mold rack we uniformly refer to the material racks for various molds as “mold racks” or “mold shelves”, and they are also called “racks for molds”.
The hardware mold placement rack is a special industrial storage mold rack used for storing hardware molds. It is mainly applied in injection molding workshops, stamping workshops and mold factories, etc. It not only saves space but also looks beautiful. Unified storage is convenient for centralized management.
What are the features of a mold rack ?

What types of mold rack are available for selection?
mold rack Classified by the load-bearing capacity of each floor:
- Lightweight mold frame Lightweight mold racks generally refer to those with a load-bearing capacity of 100-1000KG per layer. The ones that most customers purchase are our standard mold racks, with specifications of H2000*D600*L3100(3100MM in length, evenly divided into 3 compartments). They are usually equipped with 4 layers for a height of 2 meters. If your mold is small enough, You can also match the number of layers based on the height of your mold. Standard mold racks are generally made in a half-open mode. By half-open, it means that the steel plate for placing the mold rack can only be pulled out by half from the depth direction. For example, if the depth of the shelf is 600MM, then the drawer board can only be pulled out by 300MM. The bottom of the drawer board is equipped with four 6403 model bearings, so that you can push the mold in without blowing the dust when placing it on it. Of course, the above specification is one of the common ones. We will keep this specification in stock.
- Heavy-duty mold rack: A heavy-duty mold rack generally refers to a rack with a load-bearing capacity of 1500-3000KG per layer. Heavy-duty mold racks are usually made in a fully open structure. In a fully open structure, drawers can be pulled out by 65% to 100%. Generally, overhead cranes are installed on the top of heavy-duty mold racks, and some warehouses install sliding cranes on the top.

1. Standard mold rack: The standard mold rack measures H2000*D600*L3100mm. The columns are made of 10# channel steel, and the bottom is welded with ground connection plates. The load-bearing capacity of each drawer is 1000KG. Generally, we make green and blue inventory. A positioning pin, also known as a limit safety pin, is configured under the drawer board to prevent the drawer from accidentally sliding out. The thickness of the panel is 1.5mm. Under the panel, 50*30 square tubes will be welded to enhance the supporting force of the panel. Each drawer board is equipped with 4 6403 bearings. If your warehouse is installed with a overhead crane, there is no need to install a hoist. Under the premise of not being overweight, the warranty period of our mold rack is 20 years, with lifetime warranty.
2. Fully open mold frame The fully open mold rack is a heavy-duty storage device with drawers that can be fully or nearly fully pulled out. It is specially designed for efficient and safe storage, retrieval and management of heavy molds and is widely used in industrial fields such as automotive manufacturing and injection molding. The core design of the fully open mold rack, also known as the fully open mold rack, lies in that the drawer (or pull plate) can achieve a 100% or nearly 100% opening rate . This design gives it a unique advantage in the field of mold storage:
A. Maximize the storage and retrieval efficiency of : after the drawer is fully pulled out, the entire side of the mold is fully exposed, facilitating hoisting with tools such as cranes and manual hoists, significantly reducing the operational difficulty and time for taking out and placing the mold .
B. Outstanding load-bearing capacity : As heavy-duty storage equipment, its single-layer (single-draw) load-bearing capacity is typically between 800 kilograms and 5,000 kilograms , or even higher, capable of safely storing large injection molds, stamping molds, die-casting molds, etc

The fully open mold rack mainly serves manufacturing scenarios that require frequent and secure access to heavy molds:

How to maintain and care for mold rack frames
First: Prevent overloading: Overloading is strictly prohibited. Overloading can cause the mold frame to deform, affecting the mold’s load-bearing capacity. In more severe cases, it may lead to collapse and cause safety accidents. Therefore, remember, never overload.
Second: Prevent collisions. When storing or retrieving molds, make sure to position them properly. Place the molds on the shelf panel to prevent collisions. In areas where forklifts pass by, avoid forklift collisions.
Third: Regularly maintain the slide rails and apply grease.
Special attention: Personnel are not allowed to enter the bottom of the frame during storage and retrieval! Safety first!
